The United Kingdom chose Sam Ryder’s “SPACE MAN” to represent the country in Turin through an internal selection process. As one of the Big Five countries, UK’s “SPACE MAN” is guaranteed a performance in the final.

Before being announced as UK’s Eurovision entry, Sam Ryder was best known as one of the most popular British TikTok stars with his covers of Adele and others gaining millions of views on the app.

In previous years, the UK is known for always finishing in the bottom of the scoreboard. Last year was a particularly embarrassing no (nul) points from either the jury or the public vote.

Ursula’s thoughts: I really like this song. It gets stuck in my head in a good way. It is a bit vibe-ier of a song than I usually expect from Eurovision. I’m just hoping that he sings suspended in an armchair with wind blowing his luscious locks during the performance.
