Estonia’s “Hope”

Through a national selection process, Estonia chose the Western themed “Hope” by Stefan.

Stefan commits fully to the Western theme in the song’s twangy sound set to a music video in an arid desert (in contrast to Estonia’s maritime, wet, moderate forests) featuring horses, guns, cowboy hats and an onstage duel that happened during his national final performance.

Estonia performs in the second semi-final.

Ursula’s Thoughts: This has been one of my favorites since I first heard it in Estonia’s national final. I can’t really explain why I like this song so much. It just feels cinematic and grand. I hope, I hope, I hope – it makes it to the final.

Christa’s Thoughts: I can confirm that I don’t like this song as much as Ursula does. However, I do think it’s a western/country bop and is a welcome addition to the diverse genres of Eurovision. I also love that the music video for this one was fully filmed in Mexico… not Estonia.
