Opting to select their entry through a national final for the first time since 2020, Armenia chose Parg and his song, “Survivor.” Parg will be performing 5th in the second semi-final.

This song has been a favorite of ours since first hearing it. There’s something electrifying in the driving rock beat that makes you want to pump your fist in the air with each “Survivor!” Parg brought a lot of that energy to his national final performance. He dominates the stage all by himself, singing and dancing fluidly and with complete confidence. And his quasi-fantasy armor sleeve doesn’t hurt either.  

But for us, the real lasting charm of this song is in its lyrics. As you may have realized by now, we have an affinity for lyrics in English that were clearly not written by native English speakers. Over the years we have been won over by many lyrics that do not strictly make sense, but Parg has added a new level to this, because we can’t think of another Eurovision song that completely made up a word for it to rhyme.

The lyrics are world-class. Starting with, “I got my bad shades on / Jet-black am in ma zone” all the way to “RA-RA-RA-RA-RA-RA-RA / SUR-VI-VOR!”
